Palos Verdes, California - The University of Tulsa women's golf team opens the spring season at the prestigious TRW Regional Challenge, Feb-12-14, at the Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, California.

The tournament field consists of 18 of the nation's top teams, including six from each of the regions represented (Far West, West and East). Fourteen of the top-20 teams from last year's NCAA Tournament highlight this year's field and 15 of the 18 participating teams are ranked in the latest MasterCard Top 25 poll, including No. 2 Arizona, No. 4 Southern California and No. 5 Stanford.

The Hurricane enter the tournament ranked eighth nationally in the final fall MasterCard Rankings.

TU junior Stacy Prammanasudh, a two-time first-team All-American, will be looking for her third straight individual title. Prammanasudh completed the fall campaign by winning back-to-back medalist titles at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational and the Stanford-Pepsi Intercollegiate. She was the nation's fourth-ranked golfer at the conclusion of the fall season.

In addition, the Tulsa squad for this event will consist of fellow junior Dani Mallon, sophomore Maiko Senda and a pair of freshmen Suzie Fisher and Julie Tvede.

Last year, the Hurricane placed 12th in the 18-team field at the Regional Challenge. Tulsa won the team crown at the Regional Challenge in the 1998 spring season, just the third year of the tournament's existence.
