Tulsa in 17th Place After First Round at Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational

Austin, Texas - The Tulsa women's golf team is in 17th place after first round action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational.
The Hurricane women carded an opening round 317 at the par 72 University of Texas Golf Club on Friday afternoon. The nation's No. 1-ranked UCLA Bruins lead the 17-team field with a score of seven-over par 295.
Sophomore Marita Engzelius led Tulsa with a score of four-over par 76 and sits in a tie for 32nd place following opening round action. Fellow sophomore Sarah Elliot carded a round of 78, followed by freshman Kristina Merkle's score of 79. Sophomores Shu-Yin Liu and Kamryn Ruffin shot rounds of 84 and 85, respectively.
The 54-hole tournament will continue on Saturday with the second 18 holes.
