TULSA'S SHU-YIN LIU REMAINS IN SEVENTH PLACE AT NCAA EAST REGIONAL

Auburn, Alabama - University of Tulsa senior golfer Shu-Yin Liu remains in seventh place after two rounds at the NCAA East Regional. Liu carded an even-par 72 on Friday to remain three-under par with a 36-hole total of 141 at the par-72 Auburn University Golf Club.
Senior teammate Kristina Merkle scored a round of four-over par 76 and is in 48th place with a score of 149.
Liu was two-over par after her first nine holes with bogeys on the par-4 fifth hole and the par-3 eighth hole. Liu eagled the par-5 12th hole to go back to even par and went one-under par after a birdie putt on the par-3 14th hole. However, Liu ended the day at even par when she bogeyed the 18th hole.
Alabama leads the team race with a 22-under par 554 score after two straight days of shooting 11-under par. Three Crimson Tide golfers - Stephanie Meadow, Jennifer Kirby and Emma Talley - sit one-two-three in the individual race
The final 18 holes will be played on Saturday.
The top eight teams and two individuals will advance from the NCAA East Regional, as well as the Central and West Regionals. The championships finals will be held May 21-24 at the University of Georgia Golf Course in Athens, Georgia and will be hosted by the University of Georgia.
