Sept. 7, 2007

Portland, Oregon - Former University of Tulsa golf All-American Stacy Prammanasudh qualified for the 2007 U.S. Solheim Cup Team based on the top-10 rankings in the U.S. Solheim Cup points standings.

The nine other players who automatically qualified for the U.S. Squad are (Solheim Cup rankings in parentheses): Paula Creamer (1), Natalie Gulbis (7), Pat Hurst (6), Juli Inkster (4), Cristie Kerr (2), Brittany Lincicome (8), Morgan Pressel (3), Angela Stanford (9) and Sherri Steinhauer (10). Prammanasudh was fifth in the point standings.

U.S. Team Captain Betsy King picked Laura Diaz and Nicole Castrale to round out the 12-member team.

The Solheim Cup, to be played Sept. 14-16 at Halmstad Golf Club in Halmstad, Sweden, features the 12 best U.S.-born players from the LPGA and the 12 best European-born players from the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Prammanasudh, who has won two LPGA events this year, is in her fifth year on Tour. She became only Tulsa's second-ever four-time first-team All-American from 1998-2002. During her collegiate career, Prammansudh placed among the top-10 in 33 of 44 carer tournaments and was the individual medalist in 10 career tournaments, just one shy of Nancy Lopez's school record of 11 tournament victories. She was also the three-time Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year.

Qualifying points for the U.S. Team were awarded weekly to the top-20 finishers and ties at official LPGA tournaments. Points are doubled at the four major championships every year. Points during a Solheim Cup year are weighted with 60 points for a win, 30 for second, 28.5 for third, 27 for fourth, 25.5 for fifth, 24 for sixth, 22.5 for seventh, 21 for eighth, 19.5 for ninth, 18 for 10th, 16.5 for 11th, 15 for 12th, 13.5 for 13th, 12 for 14th, 10.5 for 15th, 9 for 16th, 7.5 for 17th, 6 for 18th, 4.5 for 19th and 3 for 20th.

The Solheim Cup will be televised by The Golf Channel in the United States. The Golf Channel will televise at least 26 hours of live golf during this year's Solheim Cup beginning Friday, Sept. 14 at 2 a.m. EST.

The Golf Channel will also show the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and a daily post game show. In addition, The Golf Channel will re-air in primetime four hours of the most compelling portions from each day's competition.
