University of Tulsa freshman golfer Suzie Fisher was selected as the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Month for September, as announced by the league office today.

Fisher, a native of Coffs Harbour, Australia, has started her freshman campaign with two top-10 performances. As Tulsa's top finisher at the Topy Cup in Japan, Fisher carded 78-75-73 -- 228 to finish fourth out of 40 golfers in her first collegiate tournament. She led the Hurricane to a second-place finish in the six-team tournament.

At the Comcast/Dick McGuire Invitational, Fisher finished in a ninth-place tie with teammates Stacy Prammanasudh and Dani Mallon. Fisher scored a six-over par 225 with rounds of 71-76-78 to help the Hurricane place second out of 18 teams.

In two tournaments, Fisher holds a team-best 75.5 stroke average for the sixth-ranked Tulsa golf team.
