Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa�s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.

TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.

Merkle Named C-USA Women's Golfer of the Week

Junior Kristina Merkle picked up her third C-USA Women's Golfer of the Week award in the last four weeks, and has won after each of the three tournaments in which she has played.

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa's Kristina Merkle was named Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Week after placing fourth at the Windy City Collegiate Championship, the league office announced Wednesday.

This is the third C-USA weekly award in four weeks for the junior from Honolulu, Hawaii. She has been named C-USA Golfer of the Week after each of the three tournaments in which Tulsa has played this season. This is also her sixth career C-USA weekly award.

Merkle tied for fourth at the Windy City Collegiate, which featured 11 of 15 teams ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings. She carded rounds of 71-71-74 to total even-par 216 for the tournament, and finish just two strokes out of first place. She was one of only four golfers to score two rounds under par for the tournament.
