Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
SENIOR (2011-12) - Participated in five regattas . . . assisted the Second Varsity 8+ to a win over Kansas State at the Oklahoma Invitational.
JUNIOR (2010-11) - Participated in seven regattas . . . raced the Second Varsity 8+ to a second-place Grand Final finish at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship . . . registered a fifth-place mark in the Second Varsity 8+ Grand Final at the Conference USA Championship.
SOPHOMORE (2009-10) - Participated in nine regattas . . . helped the Second Varsity 8+ turn in a third-place Petite Final finish at the San Diego Crew Classic . . . at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship, assisted the Second Varsity 8+ to a fourth-place Grand Final finish.
FRESHMAN (2008-09) - Competed in five regattas . . . captured a gold medal in the Novice 8+ at the Lawless Cup . . . at the Knecht Cup, earned a bronze medal in the Novice 8+ . . . rowed in the Novice 8+ at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship and finished fourth in the Petite Final . . . assisted the Novice 8+ to a second-place mark at the Midwest Intercollegiate Rowing Championship.
PRIOR TO TULSA - Was a four-year letterwinner in rowing at Arlington High School . . . was selected as the Oarswoman of the Year as a senior . . . led her team to a second-place finish in the Mixed 8+ at the Head of the Fish and to the semifinals at the New York State Championship in the Girls' Senior 4+ her senior season . . . as a junior, won the Outstanding Rower Award and received a silver medal at the Empire State Games in the Women's Open 4+ . . . was named a Poughkeepsie Journal All-Star during her junior and senior seasons.
PERSONAL - An elementary education major . . . born May 10, 1990 . . . one of three children of George and Sue Buchanan . . . was named to the Tulsa Dean's List and C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior . . . earned CRCA Scholar Athlete accolades as a sophomore and junior.
