Jason Coffman spent the 2001-02 season as Head Women's Rowing Coach at The University of Tulsa.
Before coming to Tulsa, Coffman spent two seasons as the Novice Women’s Rowing Coach at the University of North Carolina. His team compiled an 8-2 record this past year, while winning both the Novice 8+ Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship and the NCAA Southern Region Championship.
Previously, Coffman was the Novice Women’s Rowing Coach at the University of Tennessee for the 1998-1999 season. Before that, he spent six years at the Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center as coach of a highly successful junior program. He began as a novice coach, then varsity girls assistant coach before spending the final two years as the varsity girls coach.
At Mount Baker, he coached five national champions, including the 1995 and 1996 Junior Girls 8+ champions as an assistant coach, and was the head coach of the National Champion Junior Girls 8+ in 1997 and 1998 as well as the Junior Girls Lightweight 8+ in 1998. Coffman was selected as the Northwest Region Coach of the Year in 1998.
During his tenure at Mount Baker, Coffman served as the Novice Rowing Coach at Seattle University for three seasons (1994-1997).
Coffman earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Seattle University in 1993. He was a member of the men’s rowing team for four years and served as team captain for the 1992-93 season.
