Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
AT TULSA - A three-year letterwinner . . . has participated in 27 career regattas.
JUNIOR (2010-11) - Participated in 10 regattas . . . posted second-place finishes in the Varsity 8+ Grand Final at both the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship and the San Diego Crew Classic . . . at the Conference USA Championship, registered a fifth-place mark in the Varsity 8+ Grand Final.
SOPHOMORE (2009-10) - Participated in nine regattas . . . raced the Collegiate 4+ to a second-place finish and then turned in a top time in the Grand Final Sprints at the Boot of the Oklahoma . . . also at the Boot of the Oklahoma, helped the Collegiate 8+ finish third overall and then capture a gold medal in the Grand Final Sprints . . . assisted the Open 8+ to a bronze medal at the Head of the Hooch . . . tallied a sixth-place mark in the Varsity 8+ at the San Diego Crew Classic . . . at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship, assisted the Varsity 8+ to a fifth-place Grand Final finish . . . posted a top mark in the Varsity 8+ to earn the Lawless Cup trophy . . . recorded a second-place finish in the Collegiate 4- and Collegiate 8+ at the USRowing Championship.
FRESHMAN (2008-09) - Rowed in all eight regular-season regattas . . . at the Head of the Charles, finished sixth in the Club 4+ . . . captured first-place times in the Novice 4+ and Novice 8+, and a fourth-place finish in the Open 8+ at the Wichita Frostbite . . . earned gold medals in the Varsity 4+ `C' and Varsity 8+ at the Lawless Cup . . . helped the Varsity 8+ capture a gold medal at the Midwest Intercollegiate Rowing Championship and turn in a fourth-place mark at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship.
PRIOR TO TULSA - Was a four-year letterwinner in rowing at Mercyhurst Preparatory School . . . as a senior, won a gold medal at both the Head of the Ohio and MPS Regatta . . . won four gold, three silver and nine bronze medals during her prep career . . . as a junior, led her Lightweight 4+ to a fourth-place mark at the Canadian Nationals . . . earned a ninth-place finish out of 125 competitors in the Ontario Ergometer Championship as a sophomore.
PERSONAL - A nursing major . . . born August 11, 1990 . . . daughter of Frank and Mary Ferraro . . . was named to the TU Athletic Director's Honor Roll and picked up C-USA All-Academic honors as a freshman and sophomore.
In seven years as a member of Conference USA, Tulsa athletic teams have won a league-best 42 conference championships.
