Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.
The Golden Hurricane Club, as the primary fundraising arm of TU Athletics, works to provide every TU student-athlete with the opportunity to realize a world-class athletic and academic experience.
AT TULSA - A four-year letterwinner . . . participated in 25 career regattas.
SENIOR (2011-12) - Participated in four regattas . . . assisted the Varsity 4+ to wins over Kansas and Central Oklahoma at the Oklahoma Invitational.
JUNIOR (2010-11) - Participated in seven regattas . . . helped tally a win over Harvard in the Varsity 4+ at the Tulsa-Harvard Duel . . . raced the Varsity 4+ to a second-place Grand Final finish at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship.
SOPHOMORE (2009-10) - Participated in five regattas . . . at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship, assisted the Lightweight 8+ to a gold medal finish.
FRESHMAN (2008-09) - Rowed in all nine regattas . . . captured a gold medal in the Novice 4+ `A' at the Head of the Oklahoma . . . rowed in the Lightweight 4+ and finished sixth at the Head of the Charles . . . at the Wichita Frostbite, earned gold medals in the Lightweight 4+ and Novice 8+, and a bronze medal in the Novice 4+ `B' . . . in the Lightweight 8+, posted a first-place time at the Knecht Cup, a second-place finish at the Lawless Cup and a third-place mark at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship . . . captured a gold medal in the 2nd Varsity 8+ at the Midwest Intercollegiate Rowing Championship . . . helped the Lightweight 8+ earn a second-place Petite Final finish at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship.
PRIOR TO TULSA - Rowed for the West Side Rowing Club of Buffalo for three years . . . helped her Eight claim a first-place mark at the John Bennet Regatta, Fontana All High Regatta, Head of the Niagara and 2008 New York State Championship . . . also claimed gold in the Lightweight 8+ at the St. Catharine's Invitational Regatta, Fontana All High and Head of the Niagara regattas . . . her Lightweight 8+ finished third at the 2008 USRowing Youth National Championship as a senior . . . as a member of the U23 Lightweight 8+, tallied a second-place mark at the 2007 Canadian Henley . . . helped her team post seven top-three finishes as a junior.
PERSONAL - A double-major in biochemistry and mathematics . . . born October 18, 1990 . . . daughter of John and Joanne Kean . . . was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior . . . was tabbed to the Tulsa Dean's List as a freshman, sophomore and junior, and to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll as a senior . . . was a Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete as a junior.
In eight years as a member of Conference USA, Tulsa athletic teams have won a league-best 48 conference championships.
