Sunday Schedule

The Tulsa rowers competed in 10 races on Saturday, coming out on top in six of those races, including all three against Kansas at the Oklahoma Invitational on the Arkansas River in Oklahoma City, Okla. The Invitational will conclude tomorrow at the Exchange Boathouse.

TU currently sits in third place in the point total with 54, trailing SMU (75) and Oklahoma (72). Central Oklahoma (48), Creighton (24), Kansas (21), Kansas State (15) and Oklahoma City (15) round out the competition.

"We had very solid racing all day," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We knew today's races would be a tough challenge, but the biggest thing was that we had a good race plan and the team executed it. Oklahoma is a very strong crew, but our team raced well and we learned a lot. We have a lot of speed, we just need to put it all together."

TU's Lightweight 8+ won both of their races today, earning a five-second win over SMU and a nine-second lead over Creighton with times of 8:03.38 and 7:55.92, respectively.

The Golden Hurricane dominated Kansas, topping the Jayhawks in the Varsity 4+, Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+, but unfortunately those positions were reversed for Tulsa when they went up against Oklahoma later in the day.

TU's Novice 4+ also split on the day, tallying a time of 9:36.26 for a nine-second win over Central Oklahoma, but falling to Kansas State by six seconds.
