West Windsor Township, N.J. - The Tulsa rowers advanced all seven boats to the Grand Finals at the Knecht Cup on Mercer Lake in West Windsor Township, N.J.

"We handled today really well," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We raced in San Diego last weekend and now we are racing in New Jersey. We went coast-to-coast in a week. The team has rebounded well and fought to make the finals. I am proud of the women and hopefully we can carry this momentum into tomorrow and put all seven boats on the medal stand."

Betsy Govig, Ashley Lane, Amy Nelson, Jerusha Blankenship and Carly Schmidt turned in a second-place time of 7:42.23 in the second Heat and captured a top mark of 7:37.03 in the first Semifinal to advance to tomorrow's Grand Final.

In the Second Varsity 4+, Anna Cannone, Maile Seto, Allison Kiefer, Hannah Emnett and Rachel Perry posted a time of 7:52.91 in the Heat and will race in the Grand Final.

The Novice 4+, which consisted of Ellen Eisenhour, Lauren Turner, Sarah Palilionis, Brittany Hatt and Adrianna Catalanotto, posted top marks in the Heat and Semifinal with times of 8:14.58 and 8:06.11, respectively, to advance to the Grand Final.

Kaitlyn Schneider, Lindsay Crute, Patrizia Perazzo, McKenna Jarvis and Mary Kowalchyk raced the Lightweight 4+ to a second-place time in the Heat and will race in the Grand Final.

"The Fours were magnificent," Harris said. "The girls went back-and-forth between the Fours and Eights and raced well. The Novice 4+ won both their Heat and Semifinal, while the Varsity 4+ won their Semifinal and the Second Varsity 4+ won their Heat. It is a good step in where we are trying to go."

TU's Varsity 8+ earned a top time of 6:54.70 in the heat and turned around and registered a second-place time of 6:47.17 in the semifinal.

In the Second Varsity 8+, the Golden Hurricane was second in both the Heat and Semifinal, while the Lightweight 8+ tallied a third-place time in the Heat. Both the 2V8+ and LW8+ will race in the Grand Finals tomorrow.

"The Eights were terrific as well," Harris said. "They learned a lot about racing from behind and racing in close races today. There are a lot of fast crews here and all three Eights matured a lot today."
