Camden, N.J. -

The University of Tulsa Lightweight 4+ advanced to the Grand Final at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Lightweight National Championship in
Camden, N.J. TU will take on Princeton, Radcliffe, Wisconsin, Stanford and Loyola-Maryland tomorrow morning.

TU's LW4+, which consisted of coxswain Abigail Gorman, and rowers Puja Sztorc, Heather Brooks, Molly Selig and Carla Horne, turned in a third-place time of 8:15.44 in the No. 2 Heat. The Golden Hurricane crew then raced in the Repechage, finishing second in a time of 8:06.57, to advance to tomorrow's Grand Final.

"In our first race we didn't race very well," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "We had some technical problems we just didn't handle the way we should have. We put ourselves in the position to go through the Repechage to get to the Final, but we put the first race behind us quickly and had a good run in our second race. The women are feeling good, but know they have to step it up tomorrow."

1. Stanford - 7:52.51
2. Loyola-MD - 7:56.99
