Oct. 21, 2007
Boston, Mass. - The University of Tulsa women's rowing team notched an eighth-place mark in the Championship 4+ and an 11th-place finish in the Lightweight 4+ on Sunday afternoon in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass.
The Champ 4+, consisting of coxswain Nicole Falvo and Angela Rozowski-Vogt, Allison Bridge, Stacey Gilham and Michelle Sechser, posted a time of 19:00.78, just four seconds behind fifth-place Stanford.
"We came off the line fast, passed Yale in the first mile and stayed strong all the way down the course," Rozowski-Vogt said. "This was the strongest boat I've stroke at TU and it was a great race today."
"TU had a great weekend of racing at the Head of the Charles," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "The Lightweight boat is very young, but they came out and had a terrific performance today, and the Championship 4+ was the best race I've seen this year. I am excited about our progress as we prepare for the spring."
The Golden Hurricane will compete in one last regatta this fall, the Wichita Frostbite Regatta, on November 3rd in Wichita, Kansas.
