The Tulsa rowers will kick off the 2013 spring campaign on Saturday and Sunday, March 9-10, at the OU Invitational on the Oklahoma River in Oklahoma City, Okla. TU will face off against Oklahoma, Central Oklahoma and Minnesota in a duel format with Varsity 8+, Second Varsity 8+, Third Varsity 8+, Varsity 4+ and Second Varsity 4+ races.

"This is the fourth time we have raced in the OU Invite and it's always been a great race for us," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "March 9th feels really early for us, but it is a good chance to go out and match up against some very good teams. OU finished higher than we did in C-USA so it's good to have our first race of the season be against them. Minnesota is a Big 10 school that always comes ready to race. We haven't faced them head to head in awhile so it will be a good time to row against them. Central Oklahoma has been getting stronger and stronger and we have a lot of respect for them. They have done something that no one else in the state has done - gone to the NCAA Rowing Championships - and we are excited to race them."

"I think the team is shaping up well," Harris added. "We are very young with over half of our athletes in each of the boats being freshmen or sophomores. However, they are talented and have been working very hard to understand the ins and outs of DI rowing. The leadership of the upper class women has been invaluable. The OU invite his is going to be a very good way to start the season for TU Rowing."
