Tulsa Rowers Set to Compete at Longhorn Invitational This Weekend

Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa�s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.

TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa rowing team will take to the water for the Longhorn Invitational on Friday through Sunday, March 22-24th at Lady Bird Lake in Austin, Texas.

The Golden Hurricane will race San Diego on Friday, Kansas State and Oklahoma on Saturday, and the field for Sunday will be determined by the previous races on those two days. TU will race a Varsity 4+, Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+ in each of the duel format events.

"It is a really good opportunity and we are excited to be invited back," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "It is always a good chance to race high quality competition. We will face San Diego, who we raced very close against the last couple years; Oklahoma, who we see a lot and know well; and Kansas Sate, another conference foe. It is a good chance to figure out how we are moving the boats in the early season and what we need to work on as we move forward."
