San Diego, California - Tulsa's women's varsity-8 rowing team captured first-place at the San Diego Crew Classic on Sunday. Tulsa clocked a time of 7:14.6 to outdistance five other collegiate teams in the Cal Cup Grand Final. Second-place Tennessee finished with a time of 7:19.63.

Tulsa advanced to the Cal Cup Grand finals with a victory in Heat B in a time of 6:47.3, while Tennessee won the Heat A race in a time of 6:45.51

In the Women's JV Petite competition, the Hurricane placed fifth in a six-team field with a time of 7:25.20.
