Tulsa Ranked 27th in US Rowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Poll
April 12, 2001 Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's rowing team garnered seven points in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll to rank 27th nationally. Brown University, which was ranked first nationally in the preseason poll a week ago, remains first among the Varsity-8 teams. Brown garnered 17 first-place votes to claim the top spot, while Southern Cal is second with six first-place votes. Tulsa was also ranked 27th a week ago in the preseason poll. Last week, the Hurricane Varsity-8 team captured first-place at the Cal Cup Grand Final in a field of 21 boats at the San Diego Crew Classic USRowing, in conjunction with the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) will conduct weekly polls for Women's NCAA Division I Collegiate Varsity Eights and Women's NCAA Division II/III Collegiate Varsity Eights throughout the season. Tulsa is in action next on April 21-22 at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
