Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa rowers will race this Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17, at the Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association (SIRA) Championships in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Golden Hurricane will race in five events, including the Varsity 4+, Lightweight 4+, Novice 8+, Varsity 8+ and Second Varsity 8+.

A year ago, Tulsa captured two gold medals, including one in the Lightweight 8+ and TU's third-straight gold medal in the Novice 4+, and brought home the women's team championship title.

The Golden Hurricane's Lightweight 4+ will be racing for an automatic bid to compete at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships in June. A gold medal finish would guarantee them a spot in the championship.
