Oak Ridge, Tennessee - The University of Tulsa rowing team competed at the 2001 Lexus South/Central Sprints over the weekend.

Tulsa's First Varsity-8 team placed second in Sunday's petite final with a time of 6:49.4, finishing behind Texas. The Hurricane outdistanced third-place Minnesota, Duke, Kansas State and Tennessee. In the Second Varsity-8 Petite Final, Tulsa placed fourth in a time of 7:10.4. Texas, Tennessee and Kansas grabbed the first three places.

The Hurricane placed sixth in the First Varsity-4 Petite Final behind Notre Dame, Texas, Tennessee, Indiana and SMU.
