Ten Tulsa Rowers Selected as CRCA Scholar Athletes

Tulsa, Okla. - Ten University of Tulsa rowers were selected as Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar Athletes, as announced by the organization. The Hurricane had three seniors, one junior and six sophomores named to the team. To qualify for the accolade, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in athletic standing, have rowed in the institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75-percent of the current spring races or raced in a regional conference event, and the student-athlete must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. Among the honorees were seniors Abigail Gorman (Speech Pathology, 3.612), Arielle Tillou (Elementary Education, 3.623) and Emily Wynn (Education/English, 3.619), junior Meredith Papps (Athletic Training, 3.559), and sophomores Zoe Fleischmann (Chemistry, 3.774), Brooke Helmberger (Psychology/Biology, 3.929), Lauren Mann (Arts & Sciences, 3.517), Amanda Schenk (Sociology, 3.613), Elissa Stiles (Arts & Sciences, 3.850) and Renee Vanasse (Arts & Sciences, 3.951).
