The University of Tulsa Crew wanted to make it two in a row over Kansas State, after defeating the Wildcats twice last weekend at the Heart of Texas Regatta in Austin, Texas. Unfortunately, KSU had revenge on the mind, that coupled with a misjudgment of the finish line equaled two close loses for the Hurricane Crew.

In the Second Varsity 8 race, Kansas State used more experience to edge out a younger TU boat by less than a second, 5:17.1 to 5:17.7.

The First Varsity 8 race was tight from start to finish, as TU was able to execute the race plan to near perfection. As the race neared the finish, the TU boat misread where the finish line was. Thinking it had the lead, the boat started its sprint early, allowing KSU to catch a tired TU squad at the finish line.

TU will now head to San Diego for the San Diego Crew Classic, in hopes of rebuilding a NCAA Regional berth.

Race Results-

2. Tulsa 5:17.7	2. Tulsa 5:20.91
