Tulsa Women's Rowing Team to Kick Off Season at Head of the Des Moines
Sept. 28, 2007
Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's rowing team will kick off the fall season on Saturday, September 29th at the Head of the Des Moines Regatta in Des Moines, Iowa. Races will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the majority of the day.
TU will join Creighton, Drake, Kansas and Kansas State in the event, as well as many club teams from across the Midwest.
"The Head of the Des Moines is a great chance for our team to compete in a head-to-head format," Head Coach Kevin Harris said. "A lot of the women haven't raced at this level, so it is a great opportunity to mix it up and set up for some of the bigger races this season. Every crew will be battling to make a statement in the early season."
The Golden Hurricane will compete in the Collegiate Pair, Collegiate 4+ and Collegiate 8+, while TU will also get its first look at the novice team, coached by Julie Domina, in the Novice 4+ race.
