Tulsa, Oklahoma - The University of Tulsa women's soccer team dominated Northwestern State, 4-0, on Friday night in the season opener at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Three freshmen and one sophomore combined for the goals for TU.

"It was a good win tonight," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "The team earned a win against Northwestern State, a feat we have not accomplished the last three seasons. I am proud of the way they played, but hopefully there are more great things to come."

Kelsey Killion scored her first career goal in just the ninth minute of the contest as she dribbled the ball in from the top of the box and punched it into the back of the net. Six minutes later classmate Claire Nicholson scored a goal as she kicked the ball just over the keeper's reach and Bradi Hinch knocked in a goal from eight yards out in the 18th minute off an assist from Killion. Sophomore Stephanie Aitken scored the final goal of the night for the Golden Hurricane in the 42nd minute.

TU out-shot NSU, 20-6, including an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal. Sophomore Katie Bykowski picked up two saves and her eighth career shutout.

The Golden Hurricane will return to action against UALR on Sunday, Aug. 22nd beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Hurricane Stadium.
