Sept. 23, 2000
Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped its second overtime game of the season as Colorado College downed the Hurricane, 4-3, Friday night at Stetson Hills Soccer Field in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The contest ended in a near-freezing sleet.
Colorado College (9-2) scored the first goal of the game at the 16:21 mark when Rebecca Carroll slipped a shot past Hurricane goalkeeper Pam Devore. Tulsa (4-3-1) took its first lead of the game with back-to-back goals to end the first half. Sophomore midfielder Julie Twellman scored from just inside the post at the 18:43 minute mark and senior midfielder Julie Davidson recorded an unassisted goal at the 39:31 mark. Junior defender Beth Taruscio collected the assist on Twellman's goal.
The Tigers knotted the game at 2-2 at the 70:18 minute mark when Mari Miezwa scored off a Kris Kifer pass. Tulsa countered a little over four minutes later when Daivdson tallied her second unassisted goal of night at 74:56, to recapture the lead, 3-2.
But Colorado College's persistent play netted a game-tying goal off a corner kick with just 15 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime.
In the overtime period, CC sophomore Cortney Kitchen ended the contest at 9:41 when she scored her first career goal and gave the Tigers a dramatic 4-3 win.
