Tulsa, Okla. - Sophomore forward Stephanie Johnson registered her first career goal for Tulsa, giving the Golden Hurricane a 1-0 shutout victory over Missouri State on Sunday afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium. TU moved to 2-5-1 on the season, while MSU fell to 4-5.

Johnson's goal came at the 10:21 mark off a pass from sophomore midfielder Courtney Chadney from 12 yards out.

"Stephanie scored a big goal for us early and the back line did a great job of defending," Head Coach Rena Richardson said. "The team fought all 90 minutes and showed a lot of heart. Melissa Hailey put together an outstanding performance today."

The Bears out-shot Tulsa, 13-6, including a 7-4 ratio in shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Kendall Harclerode recorded seven saves on the day for 47 this season, the most for a Conference USA goalkeeper.

Tulsa will take on cross-town rival Oral Roberts on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the ORU Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
