Raven Tatum scored two goals to give the Tulsa women's soccer team a 2-0 win over Marshall on Friday night in Huntington, W.Va. TU moved to 8-5-2 on the season and 3-3-1 in Conference USA, while the Thundering Herd fell to 6-8-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the league.

"Marshall is a tough place to play," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "I was really proud of the way we competed tonight. To come in and play this well was huge. Marshall has only been held scoreless once this season, so I knew we were going to be in for a scoring battle. We handled ourselves really well, especially in the final part of the game to come out with a 2-0 win."

Tatum scored her second career goal in as many games as she headed in a cross from Claire Hulcer at the 20:16 mark, and then picked up her third goal in the 41st minute off a combination from Brady Hinch and Katy Riojas to give TU a 2-0 lead heading into the break. Neither team found the back of the net in the second half.

Tatum had a team-leading three shots, while Camille Pelley had two attempts. Riojas and Lindsay Kirch each had one shot. Hayley Harryman logged all 90 minutes in goal, picked up three saves and earned her second shutout on the season.

The Thundering Herd had a 9-7 lead in shots, while both teams had three shots on goal, and TU had a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 14th against East Carolina. Game time is set for 12:00 pm in Greenville, N.C.
