With a 3-0 win over Marshall on Sunday afternoon, the Tulsa women's soccer team moved to 10-5-2 on the season, marking the first time since 2000 that the Golden Hurricane has posted double-digit wins and guaranteed a winning record, as well as set a new school record for shutouts in a season with 11 on the year. The Hurricane is 4-3-1 in Conference USA play, while the Thundering Herd fell to 3-10-3 overall and 1-5-2 in the league.

"I thought it was a typical Sunday game," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "We weren't as sharp as we'd like to be and we got a little impatient at times, but we scored a couple of easy goals with our pressure and we held our composure. I am very pleased to set the school record for shutouts, that is something we've wanted to do all season long, but I am even more pleased to get to 10 wins and guarantee ourselves a winning season. This was part of our five-year plan and we've done it in four. We've turned the corner and we're excited about next weekend and to fight for a spot in the C-USA tournament."

Jordan O'Brien put Tulsa on the board at the 35:19 mark off a pass from Emily Hahn that gave TU a 1-0 lead at the break. In the second half, O'Brien fed Lindsey Kirch the ball and Kirch scored in both the 48th and 66th minutes for the 3-0 win.

Kirch had a team-high six shots, four of which were on goal, while Claire Nicholson added three attempts, and O'Brien, Miranda Zoller and Alyvia Rogers each had two shots. Katie Bykowski played all 90 minutes between the posts and had four saves for her 10th shutout on the season and 20th overall.

TU had an 18-13 lead in shots, including a 12-4 advantage in shots on goal, while both teams had three corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Friday, Oct. 21st against UTEP. Game time is set for 8:00 pm Central in El Paso, Texas.
