The Tulsa women's soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout victory over UAB on Sunday afternoon at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. TU moved to 10-5-3 on the season and 5-3-2 in Conference USA, while UAB fell to 2-16 overall and 1-9 in the league. TU picked up their 10th victory, marking the second time in as many years the Golden Hurricane has recorded double-digit wins, and Tulsa concluded regular-season Sunday play without a loss, going 6-0-2 in those games.

"It was a tough game and we knew it would be going in because UAB is a lot better than their record shows," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "We played hard, but you could tell our legs weren't all there. We've spent a lot of energy this weekend with our game on Friday and all of the homecoming festivities, but good teams find a way to win. We are playing well right now and I think we are a good team."

"Going undefeated on Sunday's isn't something we've talked about before today, but I am really proud of that fact because it shows our depth and our character. We play hard, not only on Friday nights, but also on Sunday. This was an important win. We have one more regular season contest next Friday so we'll enjoy this win, but then get ready for SMU."

Rebecca Handley scored her sixth goal of the season and her second game-winner on the year at the 15:19 mark off a forward pass from Bradi Hinch. Alexa Sidorakis gave TU a two-goal cushion as she one-timed the ball into the net off a corner kick taken by Claire Hulcer in the 68th minute.

UAB had a 14-7 lead in shots, including an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal, while Tulsa had a 6-2 lead in corner kicks.

Seven different players took shots for the Hurricane, including one each by Hulcer, Raven Tatum, Handley, Hinch, Claire Nicholson, Sidorakis and Lindsay Kirch. Katie Bykowski logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up seven saves for her sixth shutout on the year and a 7-1-1 overall mark.

Tulsa will conclude regular season play on Friday, Oct. 26th against SMU. Game time is set for 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Stadium.
