Tulsa, Okla. - The Tulsa women's soccer team will kick off the 2013 season against Houston Baptist on Friday, Aug. 23rd beginning at 7:30 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate, while all youth (under 8th grade) wearing a soccer jersey get in free.

TU recorded a 3-0 win over Central Oklahoma in the team's only preseason contest. Roman Edwards scored the game-winning goal in the eighth minute, while Bradi Hinch and Katelyn Admire each netted a goal in the second half.

The Golden Hurricane returned 15 letterwinners, including six starters, and three of the top six scorers from a year ago. Camille Pelley is the top returning scorer with six goals and four assists for 16 points, while Claire Nicholson tallied five goals and four assists for 14 points.

Last year, Tulsa had double-digit wins and advanced to the Conference USA Championship. Three Hurricane players were named to the All-C-USA teams, three were selected to the C-USA All-Tournament team, one was named to the C-USA All-Freshman team and five were tabbed to the C-USA All-Academic team.

HBU tallied 10 wins last season, including four in Southland Conference play. The Huskies return 16 letterwinners, including eight starters, and added eight newcomers to the roster.

The Hurricane earned a 4-1 win in the only previous meeting against Houston Baptist back in 1987, the first year of the program for Tulsa.
