Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa women's soccer team will take on Abilene Christian in the season opener this Friday, August 22nd beginning at 7:30 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the north ticket gate.

"We are very excited about getting the season going," Head Coach Kyle Cussen said. "We are anxious to play an opponent instead of each other, and we want to get the season off on the right foot."

The Golden Hurricane returns 14 letterwinners, including five starters, and three squad members from a year ago, and welcomes 10 newcomers to the roster.

Last year, Tulsa had double-digit wins (11), a winning record and advanced to the Conference USA Championship all for the third-straight year, and set two new school records for shutouts in a season (12) and shutouts by a single goalkeeper (Hayley Harryman, 11).

The Wildcats tallied a 13-5-1 overall record, including a 7-5 mark in the Southland Conference last season. ACU returns 16 letterwinners, including six starters, and welcomed nine newcomers.

This is the first meeting between Tulsa and Abilene Christian on the women's soccer field.
