Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa freshman goalkeeper Katie Bykowski was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced today by the league office. This was Bykowski's first career honor and the first for TU since 2005.

Tulsa was just one of two teams to win both league games this weekend, and the only team to post two shutouts. This was also the first time since joining the league that the Golden Hurricane swept both games in a weekend series.

Bykowski posted two shutouts on the weekend for Tulsa, helping TU move to .500 on the season (5-5-2, 2-2 C-USA). She earned three saves against the Rice Owls and four saves against the Houston Cougars. Bykowski has logged all 1123:38 in goal for the Golden Hurricane, picked up 64 saves and has registered six shutouts in 12 games.
