Noonan, Tulsa Overtakes UTEP, 2-1:
In its lone game last week, Tulsa scored two second-half goals in the final 11 minutes of the game to defeat UTEP, 2-1, in El Paso, Texas. After a scoreless first half, the Miners jumped on the board first at the 71:02 minute mark. Tulsa followed eight minutes later when freshman Angie Bowman (Sioux Falls, S.D.) collected a loose ball in front of the UTEP net and tied the game with her first collegiate goal. Less than four minutes later, senior Kelly Noonan (St. Louis, Mo.) secured the victory for Tulsa with a game-winning goal at the 82nd minute. Junior Melissa McCormick (Omaha, Neb.) was credited the assist.

TU Closes Out The Regular Season At Home This Weekend Against Arkansas-Little Rock, IUPUI:
Tulsa (10-5-1, 5-2 WAC) concludes the regular season this weekend with home dates against Arkansas-Little Rock (4-14, 1-6 Sun Belt) and Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI) (8-8-1, 3-1 MCC).

On Friday, October 20, Tulsa will play its first home game on the TU campus since the second game of the 1999 season. TU will host the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex at 7:30 p.m. The Hurricane owns a 10-1-1 advantage in the overall series, which began in 1987. The last time TU and UALR met, the Hurricane defeated the Trojans, 4-1, in Little Rock.

Tulsa plays the final home game of the 2000 season against IUPUI at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22 at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the soccer field.

TU Wraps-Up A Second-Place Finish In WAC Play:
With its victory over UTEP, Tulsa finished in second place in Western Athletic Conference play with a 5-2 record. After being picked to finish seventh in the preseason coaches poll, the Hurricane recorded the best conference season in its five years as a WAC member. Prior to the 2000 campaign, Tulsa had finished no higher than third overall. TU not only earned a ticket to its fourth WAC Tournament in the last five years, but a first-round bye as well. The 2000 WAC Tournament will take place in Fresno, Calif., Nov. 2-5 at Bulldog Stadium.

TU Seniors Play Final Home Game On Sunday:
Tulsa's senior tandem of Kelly Noonan and Julie Davidson (St. Charles, Mo.) will don their Hurricane uniforms for the final time in front of the home crowd on Sunday. Noonan, an all-WAC second team performer as a sophomore, ranks in the top-12 in every career scoring category. She is 12th in goals (17), seventh in assists (13) and 10th in scoring (47). Noonan has played in 73 games and has 68 starts.

Davidson, who has started 72 of 74 games played, has 11 goals and 11 assists for 33 points in her career. She ranks eighth among the school's career assists leaders. Davidson has four game-winning goals for her career and all four have come off either a free kick or corner kick. She was named the WAC Payer of the Week on Oct. 17.

McCormick Nearing Single-Season Assist Record:
Junior Melissa McCormick is just one assist shy of Tulsa's single-season assist record with six on the season. With her next assist, McCormick will tie seven other Hurricane players on the single-season list.

Player Notes:
With 42 career points (16g/10a) Melissa McCormick moved into 12th place on TU's career scoring list. With 10 career assists, she needs one more to rank among the school's top-10 leaders, and her 16 goals puts her in a tie with former Hurricane Lori Morrow (1992-95) for 12th place.

With 13 career assists, Kelly Noonan needs just one more assist to catch Paige Mayer (1994-98), who is in sixth-place with 14.

Team Notes:
TU will make a trip to the WAC postseason tournament for the fourth time in the last five years . . . Tulsa also made appearances in 1996, 1997, 1998 . . . TU has won a season-best four straight games . . . in its 13 years of women's soccer, Tulsa has nine seasons with 10 or more wins . . .
