Tulsa Trio Named to C-USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Team

Irving, Texas - Tulsa seniors Mackenzie Ayer, Courtney Chadney and Jennifer Kacergis were named to the Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Teams, as announced today by the league office. Ayer was selected to the first team, while Chadney and Kacergis were honored to the second team.
Ayer, a defender from Lake Quivira, Kan., maintains a 3.93 GPA in communication. She started 18 games this season and helped the Golden Hurricane record seven shutouts. Ayer was selected as a C-USA Academic Medalist and to the Tulsa President's List as a junior, and was named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District VI second team earlier this season.
A midfielder from Humble, Texas, Chadney has earned a 3.85 GPA in communication. She started nine of 19 games this year, and recorded two goals, both of which were game-winners, and one assist for five points. Chadney received C-USA Academic Medalist honors and was named to the Tulsa Dean's List the last three years, and earlier this season was chosen to the ESPN The Magazine All-District VI third team.
Kacergis, a midfielder from Plano, Texas, maintains a 3.44 GPA in nursing. She led TU's scoring attack all four seasons of her career, scoring 23 goals and 17 assists for 63 points. Kacergis was named to the TU Dean's List as a freshman and sophomore, and to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll as a red-shirt sophomore and junior. She also was selected as a C-USA Academic Honoree all four years and was named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District VI second team as a junior.
