In Game 1, senior center fielder Cierra Hughes drove home pinch runner Brittany Walker in the seventh inning for the only run of the game.

In Game 2, Tulsa jumped out to a 4-0 after three innings, and led 6-0 before Kennesaw State (4-5) scored in the seventh. The Hurricane scored two runs each in the first and sixth innings, and one run in each of the second and third innings.

In the second, freshman third baseman Maggie Withee singled to left and moved around to score on a throwing error off a bunt single by Barrett. TU picked up another run in the third when Hughes hit a sacrifice fly to plate Sampson, who led off the inning with a walk, making the score 4-0.

The Golden Hurricane extended its lead to 6-0 with two more runs in the sixth. Blanton plated Withee, who led off with a single, on an RBI groundout. Sampson then singled home pinch runner Brittany Walker.

Erwin retired the first six batters she faced before conceding a single in the third inning. The Owls pushed a runner to third base in the third and fourth frames, but could not score until the seventh when a one-out error allowed a leadoff double to score. Erwin ended the game inducing a pair of groundouts.
