TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa center fielder Caitlin Everett and shortstop Samantha Cobb combined for seven RBI on five hits to lead the Golden Hurricane to a 10-2 victory over Loyola Chicago in the last game of round robin play Saturday at Collins Family Softball Complex.

Eight players recorded hits for the Hurricane, and three hits - including two triples - came from Everett. Aimee Creger (5-1) struck out seven batters and earned the complete-game win for Tulsa (12-3). Loyola starter Brittany Gardner (0-2) gave up six runs in 1.1 innings and took the loss for the Ramblers (0-3).

The Hurricane took an early lead with two runs in the first inning. The first was from Everett who hit a single, stole second and third base, and scored after a single from Skylar Swanson, who earned the RBI. The run second was scored by Swanson who advanced to second on a walk by Lacey Middlebrooks and then a single from Julie Kernen, who also earned an RBI.

Tulsa increased their lead with four more runs in the second inning on a pair of two-run hits by Everett and Cobb. Cassidy Bowen singled, advanced to second on an error from the Loyola shortstop, and Cierra Hughes reached first on a fielder's choice. Both were then driven home by Everett's first triple of the day and her first two RBI. The second two runs of the inning were scored off of Cobb's home run to left field, her fifth of the season.

The only run of the third inning also came from Everett who reached first on a fielder's choice, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error by the Loyola catcher. Jill Barrett then hit a single through the left side, scoring Everett.

The top of the fifth inning brought Loyola's only two runs of the game. The runs came after Jessica Balzano singled followed by a home run from Lauren Moore, who earned 2 RBI for the hit.

The Hurricane clinched the early finish with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Haley Henshaw singled followed by another single from Hughes. Everett then hit her second triple of the night that drove in Henshaw and Hughes and earned her final two RBI of the game. Everett scored the final run of the game after a single from Cobb.
