HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Right fielder Haley Henshaw's 3-for-4 performance at the plate with two RBIs led No. 20 Tulsa (24-3, 3-0 C-USA) to a 6-4 win in six innings over Marshall (6-18, 1-5 C-USA) on Sunday at Dot Hicks Field.

Henshaw recorded the first and last RBI for the Golden Hurricane and raised her batting average from .281 to .309.

Shortstop Jill Barrett and left fielder Erica Sampson each recorded two hits, while Aimee Creger (11-1) pitched 5.2 innings giving up four runs on three hits with 11 strikeouts and Bailey Erwin recorded her four save of the year recording the last out in the sixth inning before the game was called due to snow.

Henshaw broke a scoreless tie in the top of the second inning after an RBI double that brought home catcher Catherine Horner to give Tulsa a 1-0 lead and to put runners on second and third with two outs.

Barrett's walk loaded the bases for the Golden Hurricane with two outs, but a groundout to second base ended TU's threat.

Sampson led off the top of the third inning with a solo home run to give the Golden Hurricane a 2-0 lead.

Tulsa scored two more runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-0 lead. Henshaw led off the inning with a base hit to the shortstop, followed by Barrett's base hit to put runners on the corner with no outs.

Second baseman Shelby Blanton hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score Henshaw for a 3-0 lead. Sampson hit a base hit down the left field line to put runners on first and second with one out. First baseman Jill Roye walked to load the bases, but Marshall got the next out from a fielder's choice to second base and got Barrett out at home for the second out.

With two outs in the inning, center fielder Cierra Hughes walked to bring in Sampson for a 4-0 lead and to keep the bases loaded with two outs, but Marshall got the next batter to foul out to the right fielder to end the Tulsa threat.

The Golden Hurricane scored two more runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 6-0 lead. Designated hitter Jodi Edmiston started the inning reaching on an error by the shortstop, followed by a fly out to right field. Edminston stole second and Horner doubled home Edminston for a 5-0 lead. After a foul out to the catcher for the second out, Henshaw singled home Brittany Walker, who pinched ran for Horner, for a 6-0 lead.

Marshall got on the board with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Creger got the first batter to strikeout, but the next batter reached on a walk. Creger gave up her first two hits of the game with back-to-back singles. The second single scored the first run for the Herd to cut Tulsa's lead to 6-1.

Creger got the next batter to strikeout for the second out, but a walk loaded the bases. A doubled by Marshall cleared the bases and scored three runs to cut TU's lead to 6-4.

Erwin came in relief of Creger and got the first batter to groundout to third to end the sixth inning.

The Golden Hurricane faces Bradley on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the Collins Softball Complex before hosting Charlotte this weekend in Tulsa's conference home opener with two games on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
