Head Coach John Bargfeldt

Opening statement "I'm proud of my team. It was the first time that we have ever seen Whitney Canion. I thought a number of our hitters got good swings on her. Sometimes that is the hardest thing to do when you've never faced a pitcher before. I think the difference in the ballgame was defense. We got our glove on two balls and didn't make the plays. Our team has played good defense all year, and we just came up a little short in that category today which was the difference in the game."

On the pitching matchup "I thought it would be tough to string a lot of hits together in a row, and then you have the wind blowing in. I thought it would be a low-scoring game. You had two pitchers who went out there and proved what kind of pitchers they are."

On what needs to happen in order to win tonight "All season we have taken the same approach. We will get away from the ballpark for a little bit and get something to eat. We will wipe our minds clean and have the next game mentality. We're not looking far ahead. We know that whoever we play we need to come back and play a solid game. When you've been in a regional as many times as these guys have you know how quickly you have to reload the intensity and concentration. They've been through it before so I am confident that we will have our full attention."

Aimee Creger, Senior P

On the difference in the game "I definitely think that my team did a good job, and I did my part. When you play a good team with a pitcher like Whitney, it's going to be which team makes the first error or gets that one hit. We'll be ready for the next game."

On the inning where Baylor scored "That's a frustrating feeling. I wanted to stay calm and make sure that my defense stayed calm, relax and focus on getting that last out."

Cierra Hughes, Senior CF

On Whitney Canion's performance "She has a lot of experience as a pitcher. She's seen a lot of good teams, which is going to help her no matter who she is playing. She has good movement on the ball and a good changeup. All those different pitches and speeds can keep batters off balance. I felt like we did a good job for the most part against her. We had a few things not go our way, and they made defensive plays."

On what it takes to win tonight "We just need to come out relaxed and play our game. We've had a lot of fun with each other all year, so we just need to keep the same mentality we've been playing with. We just have to take it one game at a time."
