Creger Earns First C-USA Pitcher of the Week Award for 2013

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa junior Aimee Creger earned the first Conference USA Pitcher of the Week award of the 2013 season after posting a 2-0 record, including a win over No. 22 North Carolina, at the Tiger Classic last weekend, the league office announced Monday. Creger, a native of Yukon, Okla., compiled a 1.00 ERA and a 2-0 record in two complete games, leading Tulsa to wins over North Carolina and Purdue. She allowed just one run, struck out seven batters, and scattered five hits with just one walk in the Golden Hurricane 3-1 win over the Tar Heels Friday afternoon. She came back against Purdue Saturday afternoon, and struck out nine batters in a complete-game win, allowing just four hits and three walks. This is the fifth C-USA weekly pitcher award of Creger's career. The Golden Hurricane travels to Tallahassee, Fla., this weekend, Feb. 15-17, for the Unconquered Invitational, where it will face Florida State, Arkansas and Hofstra.
