TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa softball team travels to College Station, Texas, for the Aggie Classic this weekend, Friday through Sunday, at the Aggie Softball Complex.

The Golden Hurricane (4-1) begins the tournament Friday against McNeese State (3-2) at 10 a.m. and Oregon State (3-3) at 12:15 p.m. TU continues with two more games on Saturday, facing Oregon State at 10 a.m. and McNeese State at 12:15 p.m. The Hurricane concludes the tournament at 12:15 p.m. Sunday against the host and No. 8 Texas A&M (6-0).

Tulsa's Season Ends With 2-1 Loss to Oregon State
Oregon State scored two runs in the first inning and held on for a 2-1 victory to end Tulsa's season at the NCAA Normal Regional on Saturday night. Earlier in the day, Tulsa fell into the losers bracket with a 7-1 loss against the No.4-ranked Oklahoma Sooners after leading that game 1-0 following five innings.

Softball Falls at #15 Texas A&M, 5-1
No. 15 Texas A&M scored five runs over the final three innings to defeat Tulsa, 5-1, Sunday afternoon in the Aggie Classic and the Aggie Softball Complex.

The games this weekend will be the first two meetings between Tulsa and McNeese State. Tulsa is 2-5 all-time against Oregon State. The teams last met in the 2012 NCAA Regional in Norman. TU won the opening game 9-7, and fell in an elimination game, 2-1. The Hurricane defeated the Beavers 12-5 in 1996, and fell 12-0 in 2000, and 6-1 and 5-1 in 2001. All seven previous meetings have come on a neutral field. This will be the 14th meeting between Tulsa and Texas A&M. The Aggies lead the series 11-2, and won the last meeting 5-1 in 2012. The Golden Hurricane last defeated Texas A&M in 2009, 3-2, after falling 8-0 in the same tournament. TU also beat the Aggies in 1994, by a score of 4-2.

Senior shortstop Jill Barrett leads the team with a .412 batting average and a ,500 on-base percentage. She drove in three runs last weekend, while junior catcher/outfielder Erica Sampson leads the team with four RBI and a .429 slugging percentage. Freshman third baseman Maggie Withee is hitting .333 with an RBI and two runs scored, while senior second baseman Shelby Blanton scored three runs in the opening weekend.

Senior pitcher Aimee Creger is 1-0 and leads the Hurricane with a 0.00 ERA, allowing four hits and striking out 14 batters in 14.0 innings. Junior Bailey Erwin is 2-0 with a 0.78 ERA, with six strikeouts, no walks and four hits allowed in 9.0 innings. Sophomore Caitlin Sill is 1-1 with a 0.51 ERA, tossing 10 strikeouts and allowing nine hits in 13.2 innings.
