Softball Team's Game with Oklahoma Canceled
Feb. 15, 2001 Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa softball team lost its second game of the season to Mother Nature this morning. A Friday night match-up with defending national champion Oklahoma has been canceled due to icy weather and slick conditions and will not be rescheduled. The game was to be part of the opening round of the OU/Adidas Classic. The rest of the schedule for the tournament will remain the same, with the Hurricane facing Wichita State at 11 a.m., at Reaves Park. TU will still face Texas Tech at 3:30 p.m., also. On Sunday, Tulsa will play Texas-San Antonio at 10 a.m. at Reaves Park then finish the classic with Creighton at 12:15 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex. Tulsa is currently 2-4 on the season, winning two of its last three games. TU was named co consolation champs of the UTA/Isuzu Classic the past weekend in Arlington, after rain cancelled the championship games. The Hurricane is leading the WAC in home runs with seven as a team. All of the other teams in the WAC have six long balls, combined.
Tickets for the OU/Adidas Classic are available at the gates. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for youth. A revised schedule for the classic is as follows:
Saturday, February 17th
