SOFTBALL JUMPS INTO NATIONAL POLLS

TULSA, Okla. - As a result of a 9-1 start with two wins over ranked opponents, the Tulsa softball team appeared at No. 21 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, and No. 22 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25, the organizations announced Tuesday.
The Golden Hurricane finds itself among the top-25 teams nationally for the first time since the final regular season poll last year, May 14, 2013. The No. 21/22 rankings are the highest for TU in both polls since April 9, 2013, when it was No. 17 in the ESPN.com/USA Today poll and No. 21 in the USA Today/NFCA poll.
TU is off to a 9-1 start to the season with wins over No. 18 Louisville and No. 8 Texas A&M, at the time they played. The Hurricane had been receiving votes in both polls since the preseason.
Tulsa plays at the Georgia Tech/Kennesaw State Crossover Tournament Feb. 21-23, in Atlanta/Kennesaw, Ga. TU plays a doubleheader against Kennesaw State beginning at 2 p.m. Friday, a doubleheader at Georgia Tech beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, and a single game against Georgia State at 9 a.m. Sunday.
