TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa softball team entered the national polls this week, checking in a No. 24 in both the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 and the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, the organizations announced Tuesday.

The No. 24 spot is Tulsa's highest ever in the USA Softball poll, and TU appears in the poll for the first time since it was ranked No. 25 on May 15, 2012. The ranking also matches Tulsa's highest post in the NFCA poll, and the Golden Hurricane is among the top-25 in the NFCA poll for the first time since June 14, 2011, the final poll of the 2011 season.

The Hurricane is off to a 7-3 start to the season, including a 4-1 record against ranked opponents. TU had been receiving votes in both polls since the preseason.

The Golden Hurricane travels to Austin, Texas, this weekend, Feb. 22-24, for the Texas Invitational. TU opens the tournament at 1:30 p.m. Friday against Utah State, and plays the host Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
