TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa softball moved up in the national polls this week after posting a 4-1 record at the Texas Invitational last weekend.

The Golden Hurricane improved five spots to No. 19 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, and three spots to No. 21 in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Softball Poll. The ranking in each poll is Tulsa's highest ever. The Hurricane appeared at No. 24 in both polls last week.

The Hurricane is 11-4 this season, including a 5-2 record against ranked opponents. TU split games against No. 6 Texas last week, winning, 7-4, on Friday before falling 1-0 in eight innings on Sunday. Both of Tulsa's losses to ranked opponents were 1-0, extra-inning setbacks under International Tiebreaker rules.

The Golden Hurricane returns to action this weekend, March 1-3, at the UT Arlington Invitational, where it will face Lamar, Creighton and UT Arlington. TU opens the tournament at 11 a.m. Friday against Lamar, and plays the host UT Arlington at 3 p.m.
