TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa's Skylar Swanson and Lacey Middlebrooks were named Conference USA Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday.

Swanson, a senior from Coweta, Okla., hit .571 (8-for-14), drove in 10 runs and scored five runs to lead Tulsa to five wins over the weekend at the Hyatt Downtown Tulsa Tournament. She homered twice and posted a 1.071 slugging percentage and a .647 on-base percentage in the tournament.

Middlebrooks, a junior from Wake Village, Texas, went 2-0, earned a save, and posted a 0.00 ERA to lead Tulsa to the Hyatt Downtown Tulsa Tournament championship. She earned the complete-game victory in each of her two starts, and allowed just two runs - both unearned - all weekend. She struck out 14 batters in 15.2 innings, and gave up just three walks and nine hits.

On Friday, Swanson went 4-for-6 with five RBI in two games. In the 7-2 win over North Texas, she had a pair of hits and drove in a run, and in the 8-0 win over Austin Peay, she drove in four runs and scored another run on two hits. In two games against Loyola Chicago on Saturday (W, 10-2 and W, 7-0), Swanson drove in three runs, scored two runs, walked twice, and hit a home run in game two. In Sunday's championship game 6-1 win over North Texas, she homered, doubled and drove in two runs for the Hurricane.

Middlebrooks tossed a complete game, on Friday against North Texas, striking out five batters and allowing five hits and two unearned runs. Saturday against Loyola Chicago, she pitched a four-hit shutout, striking out eight batters with just one walk. Sunday, she came on in relief against North Texas to pick up her first save of the season. She entered the game with the bases loaded and induced an inning-ending double play, and then pitched a perfect seventh inning to close out the game.

This is Swanson's first Hitter of the Week award of the season, and second of her career. This is Middlebrooks' first career Pitcher of the Week award and second weekly award of the season, as she won Hitter of the Week on Feb. 27. Tulsa has now won three of the four C-USA Hitter of the Week awards this season.
