TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa softball team travels to Norman for a showdown against 10th-ranked Oklahoma Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the OU Softball Complex. The game will be televised by Cox Cable channel 3 in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

Tulsa enters the midweek game at 14-6 on the season, and has won 11 of its last 12 games, including four in a row, while Oklahoma is 17-5 on the season. Live stats via Gametracker will be available at www.TulsaHurricane.com.

Tulsa enters the midweek game hitting .280 (145-for-517) with 79 RBI, 91 runs, 30 doubles, four triples and eight home runs, and has a .400 slugging percentage and a .356 on-base percentage with 57 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.62 team ERA with 165 strikeouts, 79 walks, 87 hits, 37 runs and 31 earned runs allowed, and has a .183 opponent batting average.

Tulsa is led in hitting by sophomore center fielder Caitlin Everett who is hitting .403 (25-for-62) with 12 runs, nine RBI, a .452 slugging percentage and a .479 OBP. Junior second baseman Skylar Swanson hits .433 (13-for-30) with five doubles, three homers, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored, along with an .900 slugging percentage and a .533 OBP. Sophomore shortstop Samantha Cobb hits .371 (23-for-62) with 15 RBI, 10 runs, four doubles, a homer, seven walks and a .423 OBP.

In the circle, freshman Aimee Creger is 7-1 with a 1.07 ERA in 52.1 innings, and has allowed 20 hits, 11 runs and eight earned runs, with 84 strikeouts and 26 walks. Sophomore Lacey Middlebrooks is 5-1 with a 1.29 ERA in 49.0 innings, and has allowed 36 hits, 12 runs and nine earned runs, with 40 strikeouts and 25 walks. Senior Jordan Kinard is 2-4 with a 3.00 ERA and has allowed 31 hits, 14 runs and 14 earned runs, with 41 strikeouts and nine walks in 32.2 innings.

 

 

Oklahoma (17-5) is ranked No. 9 in the USA Softball poll and No. 10 in the NFCA poll. OU is hitting .328 (189-for-577) with 35 doubles and 27 home runs, 134 RBI, 149 runs, a .536 slugging percentage and a .425 OBP. The Sooners have a 1.74 team ERA with 180 strikeouts, 39 walks, 95 hits, 39 runs and 34 earned runs allowed and a .187 OBA.

Oklahoma is led by designated player Brittany Williams, who is hitting .431 (22-for-51) with four doubles and seven home runs, 20 runs, 21 RBI, a .961 slugging percentage, 22 walks and a .610 OBP. Catcher Jessica Shults leads the Sooners with 12 home runs and is hitting .429 (30-for-70) with seven doubles, 43 RBI, 20 runs scored, a 1.043 slugging percentage and a .506 OBP. Keilani Ricketts leads the Sooners in the circle with a 9-2 record and a 1.08 ERA in 71.0 innings. She has allowed 11 earned runs, 39 hits and 20 walks with 116 strikeouts and a .153 OBA. Allee Allen is 2-0 with a 0.98 ERA in 21.1 innings, and has allowed 16 hits, four runs and eight walks, and has 16 strikeouts and a .208 OBA.

This will be the 41st meeting; Oklahoma leads, 32-8. The two teams split last season, with Tulsa winning at home, 5-4, in nine innings, and OU winning, 7-0, in Norman. The Hurricane is 3-7 against the Sooners since 2006, under head coach John Bargfeldt, and has won one game in the series in each of the last four seasons.
