TULSA, Okla. - The 16th-ranked Tulsa softball team plays a pair of home midweek games against Wichita State and Central Arkansas at the Collins Family Softball Complex. TU plays Wichita State at 5 p.m. Tuesday and Central Arkansas at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The Golden Hurricane (32-3, 9-0 C-USA) has won 14 in a row and 20 of its last 21 games. The Shockers (20-12, 7-2 MVC) have won five of their last six games. The Bears (17-21, 7-4 Southland) come in as winners of three straight. Live video and live stats for both games will be available on www.TulsaHurricane.com.

No. 18 Softball Drops 1-0 Pitcher's Duel at Central Arkansas
Tulsa battled through a pitcher's duel, but dropped its non-conference road contest at Central Arkansas on Wednesday, 1-0, at Farris Field.

Tulsa is ranked No. 16 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and No. 17 the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 and polls released April 1.

Tulsa hits .348 (330-for-949) with 203 RBI, 229 runs, 53 doubles, nine triples and 30 home runs, and has a .517 slugging percentage and a .424 on-base percentage with 120 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.07 team ERA with 281 strikeouts, 71 walks, 134 hits, 42 runs and 35 earned runs allowed, and has a .167 opponent batting average.

Tulsa is led in hitting by senior shortstop Jill Barrett, who has a .504 (63-for-125) batting average with 32 runs scored, 22 RBI, a .648 slugging percentage and a .537 OBP. Freshman DP Jill Roye hits .397 (29-for-73) with 11 runs, 22 RBI, a .575 slugging and a .482 OBP. Senior center fielder Cierra Hughes hits .369 (31-for-84) with 24 runs, five doubles, two triples, two homers, 22 RBI, a .548 slugging percentage and a .481 OBP. Senior right fielder Haley Henshaw is hitting .360 (31-for-86) with 24 RBI, 18 runs, seven doubles, three homers, a .547 slugging and a .439 OBP. Junior catcher Erica Sampson hits .343 (34-for-99) with 22 RBI, 30 runs, six doubles, six homers, 21 walks, a .586 slugging and a .484 OBP. Freshman third baseman Maggie Withee is hitting .338 (27-for-80) with 20 runs, two triples and a .391 OBP.

In the circle, senior Aimee Creger is 15-1 with a 0.99 ERA in 105.2 innings, and has allowed 44 hits, 17 runs and 15 earned runs, with 195 strikeouts and 50 walks. Junior Bailey Erwin is 9-0 with a 0.97 ERA in 65.0 innings with four saves, and is allowing 50 hits, 12 runs and nine earned runs with 43 strikeouts and seven walks. Sophomore Caitlin Sill is 8-2 with a 1.31 ERA in 59.0 innings, allowing 40 hits, 13 runs and 11 earned runs, with 43 strikeouts and 14 walks.

This will be the 39th meeting between Tulsa and Wichita State. The series is tied 19-19. The teams last met in 2011, as the Golden Hurricane won 4-1 and 5-0. The Hurricane and Shockers split doubleheaders in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010, and WSU won both games in 2007. TU is 6-6 vs. WSU since 2006.

This will be the eighth meeting between Tulsa and Central Arkansas. Tulsa leads the series 6-2. The Bears won the last meeting 1-0 last year in Conway, Ark. The Golden Hurricane won 1-0 in Tulsa in 2012. TU won twice in 2007 and three times in 2008, and UCA won the neutral-site meeting in 2010. The Hurricane is 4-0 vs. UCA at home.
