TULSA, Okla. - The TU softball doubleheader vs. Wichita State Tuesday has been moved up to 3:30 p.m. because of potential inclement weather in the forecast.

TU closes out its nine-game home stand with a doubleheader against Wichita State Tuesday at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex.

Live stats will be available via Gametracker and live video will be available on Hurricane Vision on www.TulsaHurricane.com. The game can be heard on 88.7 FM HD3 Hurricane Spirit Radio.

Tulsa (19-14) and Wichita State (11-18) played earlier this season at the Baylor QTI Getterman Classic, with the Hurricane capturing an 8-5 victory in eight innings.

The Golden Hurricane is hitting .284 (251-for-885) on the season with 161 runs, 152 RBI, 44 doubles, 36 home runs, 101 walks, a .455 slugging percentage and a .361 on-base percentage. TU pitchers carry a 3.37 ERA in 222.1 innings, allowing 210 hits, 127 runs, 107 earned runs, 104 walks and 238 strikeouts, and a .246 opponent batting average.

Tulsa is led in hitting by senior right fielder Lauren Lindsay who is hitting .440 (44-for-100) with 33 runs, 34 RBI, nine doubles, 15 home runs, 22 walks, a .980 slugging percentage, and a .540 on-base percentage. Freshman shortstop Samantha Cobb leads the team with 35 RBI and is hitting .357 (40-for-112) with 22 runs, 11 home runs, five doubles, five walks, a .696 slugging percentage and a .392 on-base percentage. Freshman center fielder Caitlin Everett is hitting .292 (31-for-106) with 21 runs, 12 RBI, three doubles, 10 walks and a .321 on-base percentage.

In the circle, freshman Kalynn Schrock is 7-3 with a 2.86 ERA and has allowed 39 hits, 29 runs, 24 earned runs, 30 walks, 79 strikeouts and a .185 opponent batting average in 58.2 innings. Senior Jackie Lawrence is 7-5 with a 3.45 ERA and has allowed 92 hits, 53 runs, 43 earned runs, 32 walks, 78 strikeouts and a .267 opponent Batting Average in 87.1 innings. Junior Jordan Kinard is 5-6 with a 3.67 ERA and has allowed 79 hits, 45 runs, 40 earned runs, 42 walks, 81 strikeouts and a .267 opponent batting average in 76.1 innings.

 

 

Wichita State enters the game with a .230 batting average (159-for-690) with 81 runs, 70 RBI, 31 doubles, nine home runs, 85 walks, a .314 slugging percentage, and a .322 on-base percentage. Shocker pitchers carry a 4.00 ERA in 182.0 innings, allowing 187 hits, 117 runs, 104 earned runs, 63 walks, 138 strikeouts and a .264 opponent batting average.

Wichita State's leading hitter is junior catcher Heather Gerritse, who is hitting .338 with eight runs scored, 15 RBI, four home runs, 14 walks, a .529 slugging percentage and a .458 on-base percentage. The Shockers are led in the circle by sophomore pitcher Kasha Kolb, who leads the team with a 2.71 ERA, allowing 77 hits, 38 runs, 37 earned runs, 29 walks, 95 strikeouts, and a .220 Opponent batting average in 95.2 innings. Freshman Katie Armagost has a 4.75 ERA, allowing 61 hits, 41 runs, 31 earned runs, 12 walks, 16 strikeouts and a .314 opponent batting average in 45.2 innings.

Tulsa trails Wichita State in the all-time series, 18-15. Tulsa won the game back on Feb 19 at the Baylor tournament, as TU captured an 8-5 victory over the Shockers in eight innings. Freshman Keri Leach hit home runs in the sixth and eighth innings to help the Hurricane to the win. The two teams split the doubleheader last season, with Tulsa winning, 8-0, and WSU winning, 4-2. Since 2006, Tulsa and Wichita State are tied, 5-5. TU is 2-2 vs. WSU in Tulsa, 1-3 in Wichita, and 2-0 at neutral sites.
