TULSA, Okla. - The 15th-ranked Tulsa softball team closes its road swing with a non-conference midweek game at Arkansas at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bogle Park.

The second meeting of the season between the Golden Hurricane (35-4, 10-1 C-USA) and Razorbacks (24-17, 2-10 SEC) will be radio broadcast on www.TulsaHurricane.com and KWTU 88.7 HD3. TU, which has won 17 of its last 18 games, defeated Arkansas 6-1 in Tulsa on March 12. Live stats will also be available on the Tulsa Athletics website.

Creger's 13 Strikeouts leads No. 20 Tulsa to a 6-1 win over Arkansas
The University of Tulsa softball team defeated Arkansas 6-1 behind Aimee Creger's 13-strikeout performance on Wednesday at the Collins Softball Complex.


The Hurricane is ranked No. 15 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and No. 17 the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 and polls released April 8.

Tulsa hits .347 (366-for-1055) with 225 RBI, 252 runs, 59 doubles, 11 triples and 37 home runs, and has a .529 slugging percentage and a .421 on-base percentage with 129 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.18 team ERA with 298 strikeouts, 85 walks, 155 hits, 52 runs and 43 earned runs allowed, and has a .174 opponent batting average.

The Golden Hurricane is led in hitting by senior shortstop Jill Barrett, who has a .496 (68-for-137) batting average with 38 runs scored, 23 RBI, a .657 slugging percentage and a .534 OBP. Freshman DP Jill Roye hits .392 (31-for-79) with 13 runs, 27 RBI, a .633 slugging and a .478 OBP. Senior center fielder Cierra Hughes hits .368 (35-for-95) with 27 runs, five doubles, two triples, three homers, 24 RBI, a .558 slugging percentage and a .479 OBP. Senior right fielder Haley Henshaw is hitting .344 (33-for-96) with 26 RBI, 20 runs, seven doubles, four homers, a .542 slugging and a .417 OBP. Junior catcher Erica Sampson hits .351 (39-for-111) with 27 RBI, 31 runs, seven doubles, seven homers, 22 walks, a .604 slugging and a .482 OBP. Freshman third baseman Maggie Withee is hitting .367 (33-for-90) with 22 runs, 10 RBI, two doubles, three triples and a .412 OBP.

 

 

In the circle, senior Aimee Creger is 16-1 with a 0.93 ERA in 112.2 innings, and has allowed 47 hits, 18 runs and 15 earned runs, with 206 strikeouts and 53 walks. Junior Bailey Erwin is 10-1 with a 1.14 ERA in 73.2 innings with four saves, and is allowing 60 hits, 16 runs and 12 earned runs with 47 strikeouts and 10 walks. Sophomore Caitlin Sill is 9-2 with a 1.64 ERA in 64.2 innings, allowing 48 hits, 18 runs and 16 earned runs, with 45 strikeouts and 22 walks.

This will be the 25th meeting between Tulsa and Arkansas. The series is tied 12-12. The Golden Hurricane won the first meeting this season, 6-1 in Tulsa on March 12. The teams split two games last season at a tournament in Tallahassee, Fla., as Tulsa won 3-1 and Arkansas won 14-3. The Golden Hurricane won twice in 2012, and the teams split two meetings in 2008, 2009 and 2010. TU is 8-4 against the Razorbacks since 2006.
