TULSA, Okla. - The 15th-ranked Tulsa softball team returns home to play host to East Carolina Saturday and Sunday at the Collins Family Softball Complex. TU and ECU play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m. and a single game at noon Sunday.

The Golden Hurricane (36-4, 10-1 C-USA) has won 18 of its last 19 games, including a victory at Arkansas Wednesday. The Pirates (20-15, 9-6 C-USA) have won four of their last six games, including a sweep of Southern Miss last weekend and a doubleheader loss at North Carolina State Wednesday. TU will hold its annual pink games on Saturday, continuing the fight against breast cancer. There will be a silent auction throughout the day, with proceeds to benefit the Young Survival Coalition - an organization to help young women who are facing breast cancer. Donations are welcome.

The Hurricane is ranked No. 15 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and No. 17 the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 and polls released April 8.

Tulsa hits .346 (375-for-1085) with 228 RBI, 256 runs, 59 doubles, 12 triples and 37 home runs, and has a .524 slugging percentage and a .420 on-base percentage with 132 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.15 team ERA with 306 strikeouts, 90 walks, 160 hits, 53 runs and 43 earned runs allowed, and has a .174 opponent batting average.

Tulsa is led in hitting by senior shortstop Jill Barrett, who has a .489 (69-for-141) batting average with 38 runs scored, seven doubles, 23 RBI, a .645 slugging percentage and a .526 OBP. Freshman DP Jill Roye hits .402 (33-for-82) with 13 runs, 27 RBI, a .634 slugging and a .484 OBP. Senior center fielder Cierra Hughes hits .378 (37-for-98) with 28 runs, five doubles, three triples, three homers, 26 RBI, a .582 slugging percentage and a .488 OBP. Junior catcher Erica Sampson hits .348 (40-for-115) with 27 RBI, 32 runs, seven doubles, seven homers, 22 walks, a .591 slugging and a .476 OBP. Freshman third baseman Maggie Withee is hitting .366 (34-for-93) with 22 runs, 10 RBI, two doubles, three triples and a .410 OBP. Senior right fielder Haley Henshaw is hitting .337 (33-for-98) with 26 RBI, 20 runs, seven doubles, four homers, a .531 slugging and a .414 OBP.



In the circle, senior Aimee Creger is 17-1 with a 0.88 ERA in 119.2 innings, and has allowed 52 hits, 19 runs and 15 earned runs, with 214 strikeouts and 58 walks. Junior Bailey Erwin is 10-1 with a 1.14 ERA in 73.2 innings with four saves, and is allowing 60 hits, 16 runs and 12 earned runs with 47 strikeouts and 10 walks. Sophomore Caitlin Sill is 9-2 with a 1.64 ERA in 64.2 innings, allowing 48 hits, 18 runs and 16 earned runs, with 45 strikeouts and 22 walks.

Tulsa and East Carolina have played 23 times. Tulsa leads the series 13-10. All of the meetings have been since 2006. The Golden Hurricane has won five of the last six meetings between the schools. TU won two of three in Greenville last year and swept the Pirates in Tulsa in 2012. ECU won three of four meetings at home in 2011. TU won three of four at home in 2006 and two of three in 2008, while the Pirates won two of three at home in 2007 and 2009.
